On Tuesday, August 23, 2011, historic Gilboa Christian Church, located at Cuckoo (Louisa County), Virginia, suffered uniquely extensive damage as a result of a 5.8 magnitude earthquake. On Friday, September 2, 2011 at 1:00 p.m., a press conference will be held at the church to discuss the damage and plans for the future.

Tonight the Church agreed to move forward with rebuilding. An ongoing fundraising effort is in it’s early stages and a post office box will be opened very soon to begin accepting donations. Please check back for more information, this will be a long journey, but one we know God will help us through.

Our beloved church was heavily damaged in yesterday’s earthquake – please pray for our worship family. We have so many blessings to be thankful for, and and we know that God’s strength will carry us through this challenging time.
